This might sound like an exaggeration, but when you hear that it can achieve beautiful results for your smile without the need for anaesthetic or drilling, you may feel differently!
Whether it’s cracks, chips, discolouration, or you dislike the shape of individual teeth or your teeth as a whole, composite bonding is the minimally invasive Swiss army knife of cosmetic dentistry.
Our approach to composite bonding is to provide treatment using composites that mimic the behaviour and look of real tooth enamel. Our dentists adhere each fine layer of composite in a way that recreates the singular translucency of real tooth enamel – and its durability too.
We know you’ll love these benefits, as they’re benefits that past patients of composite bonding refer to all the time!

Diet
The more teeth-staining food and drink you consume, the faster the composite resin will stain.
Oral hygiene routine
A good oral hygiene routine at home will protect the integrity of the resins and stop the natural portion of the tooth from decaying.
The dentist
Some dentists are better than others at composite bonding. Fortunately, you’re in great hands at Artistry Dental.
We are well-known for our cosmetic dental results, as well as our consideration for the individual and how composite bonding will benefit them in both the short and long term.
Composite bonding is an ultra-versatile treatment. We can treat the following as individual problems, or all at once:
Before treatment, we will examine your teeth to assess their health status. If you have gum disease or decay, we will need to look at addressing this first. Sometimes your teeth could benefit from some short-term orthodontic treatment to give us more space to create better, longer-lasting restorations.
Once we give you the green light, we can start by chatting to you about what you would like to improve about your teeth, helping us to meet your expectations as closely as we can.
If you would like to whiten all of your teeth, please let us know, as this will need to be performed prior to composite bonding (as composite resin doesn’t respond to whitening gels). The dental composite can then be shade-matched to your newly whitened teeth.
Composite bonding is essentially a way to fix or improve your teeth using a tooth-coloured plastic material that gets moulded and hardened right on your tooth. Think of it like sculpting with putty.
Your dentist takes this soft, malleable material (called composite resin) and shapes it directly on your tooth to fix chips, fill gaps, change the shape, or cover stains. Once they’ve got it looking just right, they use a special blue light to harden it instantly, kind of like how UV light cures certain glues.
The material is designed to match your natural tooth colour, so when it’s done, it blends in seamlessly. It’s different from getting a crown or veneer because nothing gets made in a lab – your dentist does all the work right there in the chair, usually in just one visit.
Your journey to a healthier, more confident smile starts here. At Artistry Dental, we believe every smile is unique, and our personalised consultations are designed to understand your needs and goals.
